Being a mom is not an easy thing. You try your best to be the best mom in the world, but you really can't be one. What you can only hope for is that all the things you do, your decisions and actions, will make your baby grow up to be the best that she can be.

One of the best things in being a mommy is the unconditional love you get. The smile when she sees you; how she runs to you everytime you come home, even if you just left for a little while. The little things that make you feel like you're the most loved person in the world.

There are times that we fight. I try to discipline her, and what I get is either the "paawa" look or the "i-don't-know-who-you-are" look. Hrmpf. She's sensitive, "iyakin"... just like me. Then, alls's well again when she goes and snuggles up next to me. A silent sorry, so all is forgiven.

She's the baby of the family, well-loved and constantly showered with cuddles. Who'd have thought the "bato-bato" uncles and "pa-macho" brothers of mine will be doing their wuvvy-wuvvy baby talk. A day without her in the house, they get all sentimental and talk about how they miss her. That's just one day, imagine how they'd feel if it were longer!

I'm not her real mom, just her adoptive mother. But it's enough... I'm still a mommy, and she's my baby. When I feel sad, she knows it and tries her best to cheer me up. Who'd have thought she'd be intelligent and sensitive? She's my adopted poodle. Love the dog.

It might seem like fantasy, or practice for something that I might be in the future. Know what? It's not. Though you may say animal lang naman yan. Animals have feelings too. I may be seen as someone who can be a mother, I can cook and stuff... but honestly, I have been afraid of motherhood all this time. And this little poodle changed me. It's now something that I think I can handle.
